Our Mission
Louisiana Cultural Music Preservation Foundation is a 501c.3. non-profit organization. We seek to preserve, promote, and support Louisiana music and its cultural heritage so that current and future generations inherit a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of Louisiana's unique musical legacy and music culture.

The Foundation has secured access to an archive of over 1,000 digitally preserved live recordings captured over 20 years at the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. We support the continued efforts to record and preserve more live concerts at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival as well as other local and regional Louisiana music festivals, shows and events.

Our economic support for recording and preserving Louisiana music also directly supports the performing musicians in their efforts to derive income from their art. By recording and promoting what would otherwise have been unknown musical performances, the artists can now receive sales and merchandising income from the recordings.

The Foundation utilizes its archive of current and future recordings to promote and expand the public’s appreciation of Louisiana music. Current initiatives include recording live Louisiana music performances, establishing a free internet "radio" station streaming Louisiana music worldwide 24/7, and a joint effort with the New Orleans Jazz Museum to install a public listening room onsite.
